The Requirement

The Local eGovernment Standards Body required a new website which would enable them to provide easily accessible information and guidance, relating to standards, best practice and learning.
 
The website needed to enable visitors to interact with one another as well as the Standards Body.
 

With time critical content it was important that the process of adding a editing content was simple and easy and that the information added could be accessible by everyone.

 

The Solution

EasySite CMS powers the Standards Body website, allowing non technical authors to create and maintain an unlimited number of
pages and sections within the site, ensuring that new information can be added within a matter of minutes and expired information can be easily removed.

Visitors to the website can interact with each other through the integrated discussion forum. Members can browse and share thoughts, ideas and information. Visitors can also submit feedback and queries direct to the standards body by completing online forms.

 

Local eGovernement Standards Body

The CUSTODIAN part of the website is an on-line repository of emerging standards and standards related information. The user can retrieve information within the repository quickly and easily, through searching by categories and sub-categories.  

Initially, the user can choose a theme relating to their area of interest, they are then shown a list of topics relevant to the theme. When a topic is chosen the user can ‘hotlink’ to the content associated with the topic.


The Result

The combination of the on-line repository, discussion forum and feedback forms has enabled the Local eGovernment Standards Body to meet their requirements regarding providing easily accessible information. The solution also assists the Standards Body to meet accessibility, compliance and interoperability standards.
