EIBS gives Gosport the ‘e’ vote

South coast borough council takes on new web content management system

Gosport Borough Council has re-signed web content management specialist, EIBS, to help it deal with new e-government requirements.

The council, which implemented an EasySite Content Management System two years ago, is now upgrading to the latest version of the EasySite software, as well as purchasing an additional two modules.

According to EIBS, its software allows the council to manage the content of its intranet and internet sites, and improves communication between the council and the community of Gosport.

In the new deal, Gosport has upgraded The 'URL shortcut module' to allow it to give web pages shorter web addresses while the 'Polling Module' gives the ability to canvass the community for its opinions on a range of issues.

Ken Lucking, the corporate services manager at Gosport Borough Council claims that the EIBS technology offers Gosport the chance to meet its e-government objectives. 'We're really happy with the work the company has done for us over the past two years,' he added.
