Nuneaton And Bedworth Borough Council To Develop New Fully Compliant Website

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are in the process of re-developing their website in line with the Priority Outcome 3 set by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM).

After a formal tender process Nuneaton and Bedworth have invested in the EasySite™ Content Management System from EIBS to redevelop their current website.

Paul Ford, Information Systems Manager at Nuneaton and Bedworth, comments; “We required a solution that would provide us with the flexibility to allow members of staff without any previous technical knowledge to create and manage the site” “The compliant focused functionality within EasySite™ such as mandatory metadata and alt tag fields also means that it is incredibly easy for staff to ensure all content is compliant”

The council are also planning to utilise the integrated Asset Manager functionality within EasySite™ to meet Freedom of Information (FOI) requirements. The Asset Manager will allow them to store, share and retrieve an unlimited number of documents and multimedia files, Administrators can then specify which assets can be searchable by the public and categorise by FOI class.

The main nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk site is due to go live in January 2006 with additional microsites such as Nuneaton and Bedworth Town Centres to follow, building a community of websites which aim to illustrate the effectiveness of delivering joined up government and improved on-line public services in-line with the 2005 targets.
