Sunderland TPCT Install Latest Intranet Technology

Following the success of the NHS in Nottingham and the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust intranet sites, web content management provider, EIBS, has won another NHS contract.

EIBS competed with seven other Content Management Software suppliers for the contract, resulting in Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust choosing EIBS to manage various sites for them.

EIBS’s ‘EasySite Community Solution’ has been designed to meet the growing need for a single content management system to maintain multiple websites. The application is suited to organisations that wish to manage multiple 'partner' websites within a single environment.

EasySite Community Solution will enable Sunderland to create these multiple websites and can support unlimited users. It will manage five sites in total – three intranet sites for Acute Hospital, Sunderland TPCT and Mental Health – one public website and one NHS net site.

Sunderland TPCT works to provide an advanced range of primary and community healthcare services for patients across the city. The organisation manages the delivery of frontline patient care through GPs and nurses at local surgeries, dentists pharmacists and opticians.   EIBS provides content management software, to give organisations the power to change the content of their website, intranet and extranet at any time without requiring expensive technical support resources.

“The Intranets in particular have really taken off,” commented Paul Pringle, Web Manager, Sunderland Health Community IM&T Partnership Services. “Staff are using these as the prime communications medium for the three trusts. As content is changing daily on all the sub-sites, we have to make changes to static pages all the time. EasySite Community enables staff to manage and have responsibility for their own content, without having to use my technical resources!”

“Staff are now able to find, offer and share information with each other internally with speed and ease,” added Paul.

“We’re delighted to be working with Sunderland on this project.  By using the all the latest intranet technology we can also give added modules including restricted access, director builder, discussion board, content sharing, and much more,” commented Marcus Boswell, EIBS Consultant.

The whole project has taken just four months and was completed in March.
