The Requirement

South Suffolk Learning Community required a content management solution that had the ability to power multiple websites using one copy of the solution. The system needed to be easy to use so that both staff and pupils could add content and manage the site.

The Solution

South Suffolk have chosen EasySite CMS to create and maintain their new website.

The solution is incredibly easy to use allowing non technical Authors to add and edit content and determine the structure of the website.

South Suffolk invested in the Community version of EasySite which facilitates the creation of multiple websites within a single environment, enabling the organisation to create websites for 13 individual schools.

The Result

In Phase 1 of the project, EIBS designed a central hub to link all of the schools. Administered by the steering group, the hub provides a resource for information
such as news and events, together with a series of private networks, or 'extranets' enabling more private discussion and the sharing of information between groups within the community.

In Phase 2 of the project each school will go live with its own website where they can post information such as news, events, curricular resources, extra-curricular-activities and job advertisements.

“The community model offered by EIBS, which enables us to manage lots of websites within a single environment, met out needs exactly.” Said David Jones, Assistant Headmaster at Great Conrad Upper School and Technology College.

“We also needed a system that was both extremely flexible and very easy to use, as we're planning to let children write web pages themselves. The system has also surpassed our need in this respect, as it's easy enough for children to write their own pages and provides a holding facility so that an adult can approve them before they go live.”
