Connexions Lincolnshire and Rutland

The Connexions Lincolnshire and Rutland website is exclusively dedicated to young people between the ages of 13-19 years old. It offers a range of information that covers issues such as health, careers, sexual health, drugs, relationships and much more – all of which endeavour to support young people in their transition to adulthood.

Bearing in mind the target audience, EIBS set out to develop an exciting, dynamic and informative website which is extremely easy to use. The website aims to become an invaluable and indispensable resource for young people. Therefore, it was crucial that the information on the site be continually up-to-date and relevant. Based on this criteria, EIBS EasySite was deemed to be the perfect solution. A number of editors within Connexions have now taken ownership of a ‘Zone’ or section, actively inputting and updating information within a non-technical environment.

In order to attract and retain visitors, the site also features a number of important interactive elements, including a moderated discussion room where key topics are posted, subsequently generating a discussion amongst the visitors. Alternatively, visitors have the option of joining a chat room where they can have one to one chats with like-minded peers.

Visitors can also relax in the ‘Lounge’ and play games like Tetris or mix up some beats using a DJ’s music decks. As for those looking for something a little more serious, the site features a job database where young people can seek work placements, as well as job and career opportunities across the county. In short, the site aims to be an informative resource dealing with serious issues whilst presenting them in a fun and interactive way.
