EIBS Ltd and Air Partner have worked together to successfully launch multiple language content on the Air Partner website using EasySite CMS.
Air Partner plc is a world-class provider of aircraft charter with 22 offices in 15 countries, spanning Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Air Partner operates a full 24-hour flight operations centre providing clients with instant access to their chartered aircraft services all year round.
Air Partner now has website content available in Swedish, French, German, Dutch, English US, Swiss French, Swiss German and Spanish with Italian content live in the coming months. Specific language content is automatically displayed to the site visitor through their web browser settings. The correct language is displayed depending on the visitor’s language settings. The language automatically defaults to English if an alternative language is not available. In addition visitors can also pick their preferred language through a language picker on the site itself.
To enable the development of multiple language content to run seamlessly across the site a number of locales were created within EasySite which specify a region and associated language. When a master page is created the option is given to create alternate pages for the locales. An appropriate style is also assigned to the alternate page to ensure that navigation, for example, is displayed in the correct language. The translated text is then added to these pages. When a visitor logs on to the site EasySite recognises the browser setting and checks to see if it has the relevant locale set up, if it does then the correct language page is displayed automatically.
EIBS and Air Partner have developed a successful partnership to enable the multiple language content to be delivered. EIBS staff have migrated the content to the alternate pages. With EasySite’s workflow in use, the Air Partner central management team is alerted when local language pages are edited. The team can then check the change and approve it.
