- The Society for the Environment (SocEnv) have recently selected EIBS
and their content management system EasySite™ to launch their new
corporate website. The new site launched in November 2006, can be
viewed at www.socenv.org.uk
SocEnv
is the independent body that regulates the award of the Chartered
Environmentalist (CEnv) qualification. Through their fifteen member
bodies, they recognise the expertise and achievements of environmental
professionals working throughout the UK and abroad.
SocEnv is
incorporated by Royal Charter, and seeks to both inform and influence
policy at the highest level. Through their work SocEnv aim to influence
government, policymakers and opinion-formers on all aspects of the
environment and sustainability as well as co-ordinate responses to
policy consultations and organise regional and national networking
events.
The new website powered
by EasySite CMS provides SocEnv with a robust tool to create a
comprehensive resource that will help them to connect with their many
members, partners and the general public. Kerry Geldart, Development
and External Affairs Manager at the Society said “Through our Member
Bodies we represent over 4,000 Chartered Environmentalists, 10% of whom
are based overseas. EasySite allows us to make available resources and
information as well as deliver news updates to all our members
worldwide, in an instant. The site has proven to be an essential
communications hub.”
After
looking at various content management systems on the market, EasySite
CMS was selected for its ease of use for non technical users. With 100%
front end editing and Microsoft style editing features, any user can
quickly create and edit site pages.
