Link to pages, documents, sites - internal and external
EasySite fully controls how hyperlinks, both to internal pages and to external sites, are created and managed.
The EasySite Link creator tool allows links within content to be created that point to:
-
Internal pages
-
External websites and pages
-
Areas within content
-
Images, files, documents and other assets stored within the EasySite Asset Manager
-
Applications
Automatic link updates
In the case of internal links all an author needs to do is select the text or image that they want to turn into a hyperlink, click on the create link button and then navigate through a Windows Explorer style map of the site to the page they wish to link to. If the target page is edited or moved EasySite automatically updates all of the links to the page to maintain integrity.
When a content item is added to the site it is immediately placed into the sites navigation structure automatically, should the page be removed or relocated at a future date then EasySite will automatically remove or update all links that point to it accordingly.
External link checking to report dead or broken links
All URL links for external websites that are placed on a page are checked for validity (i.e. a site responds at that URL address) by an EasySite background service.
You can configure how frequently the background service runs (e.g. weekly or daily) and additionally specify a time interval during a 24 hour period when the checking occurs
