EasySite™ CMS Directory Builder module lets non-technical users define, populate and display directories and databases on your site.  Each directory can have an unlimited number of fields including field types such as:

  • Text boxes

  • Text areas

  • Drop Down Lists

  • Check Boxes

  • Radio Buttons

  • Images

  • Downloadable documents

Creating a bespoke SQL database takes only a few minutes using an incredible drag-and-drop interface. Once you've defined your directory you can populate it by simply uploading a suitable CSV file.

Managing the directory couldn't be easier as all updates and edits to the records can be done through the front end - simply search for the records you want - click on edit - and enter the new details.

Building the directory

A Directory builder database can be quickly built by dragging-and-dropping different field elements, such as headings, text boxes and check boxes, onto a blank directory form.  Each field can be configured to specify properties such as the label, type and other parameters.

Populating the directory

Records can be imported into the directory from a CSV file or can be added manually.  It is also possible to allow visitors to the website to populate the directory via an associated workflow approval process.  Directory records can be deleted, amended and re-ordered.

Displaying the directory

A view onto a Directory builder database is created by dragging-and-dropping the Directory builder module element into an EasySite page template.  The element allows the author to configure the display option (e.g. table or list format) and which fields (columns) to include in the view.  The author can also configure the optional search facility to be constrained to specific fields or keywords if required.
