Searchable Events Calendars
Publishing and advertising important dates, meetings and product launches requires a formal mechanism for your site visitors and customers to view and contribute to. We've developed the EasySite™ CMS Events Calendar module to plug-in seamlessly with the core solution and allow easy customisation to meet your precise needs.
User submitted events
Events can be stored based on categories, by date and with full detailed information about starting times, locations and contacts. For community based sites you can switch on the public events submission system to allow your site members to propose their own events. Administrators then have the ability to approve events before they are published to the live site.
Creating an event calendar and adding events
The Event calendar supports a variety of different input fields (e.g. event name, description, event date, times, costs etc.) and single or repetitive events. When new events are added, an email can be sent to prospective participants to invite them to attend. Events can be imported from a CSV file into the calendar. Event entries can also be exported as XML, ASCII CSV file and Unicode Text file.
Displaying the event calendar
One or more Event calendar elements may be added to a page template or an individual page. Each element may be configured to display a different event database or, through the use of event categories, a view of different types of event within the same database.
If the website administer configures the Event calendar element to allow public users to submit events, such events may be routed for approval before display. In addition, public users may be required to approve a set of website Terms and Conditions before successful event submission.
The Event calendar may be rendered in List, Table or Super-Grid (i.e. Outlook type) styles. In addition, a search box is available to help search large calendars for specific events.
