The Connexions Service provides a wide range of careers and advisory services via a network of offices throughout the UK. It offers its clients sessions with advisers and acts as a source of information on relevant issues such as health and education.
 
As Connexions operates across the whole of Nottinghamshire, it is important for them to have a cohesive internal communications system. To achieve this, Connexions chose a content managed intranet provided by EIBS. This intranet is the major company access point and store of all key procedures, forms and resource lists for Connexions employees'. It also allows quick and easy publication of company news, events diaries and contact directories via the EasySite content management system.
 
This enables a large group of managers and staff to edit and publish their own content. This content can then be managed by a dedicated intranet content coordinator to maintain quality.
 
As well as giving staff access to integral documents, such as updateable policy copy and adviser support materials, EasySite content management system allows Connexions to mediate the use of this information by external users and to prevent unauthorised access. As interaction with users is of key importance to Connexions, the ability to control the flow of information on a very detailed level has opened up new fields for the company, empowering them to offer a broader user experience.
